Amy Clonch Thornton

Amy Thornton is a reporter and columnist for the Beckley Bugle, where she covers people, issues and events across southern West Virginia while offering commentary from an independent perspective. Her mission is to highlight stories and perspectives she believes are often overlooked by mainstream media.

Thornton began producing video content in 2020 and has since interviewed West Virginians from a wide range of backgrounds, telling stories about local communities, businesses, political candidates and events. Her writing and reporting are rooted in a passion for listening to others, exploring the issues affecting West Virginia and sharing what she calls “the rest of the story.”
