CHARLESTON — Gov. Patrick Morrisey on Tuesday selected Beckley pastor John K. Jordan to fill the vacancy in the West Virginia House of Delegates created by the resignation of Brandon Steele.

Jordan will represent the 42nd District.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of the Cumberlands and a master’s degree in church leadership from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Jordan has served as lead pastor of Calvary Assembly of God in Beckley since 1998. In that role, he oversees weekly worship services and ministries, provides pastoral counseling and manages the church’s administrative and financial operations, including development of its annual budget.

In addition to his pastoral work, Jordan is assistant superintendent of the Appalachian Ministry Network and a general presbyter with the General Council of the Assemblies of God.

He has also worked as a chaplain at Raleigh General Hospital since 2000.
